This is a general view of the Ozark Mountains, Boston Range. Lee Creek bottom is more rugged with not so much meadow and pasture.
Now the roads and trails that were so worn by the feet of devout worshipers and the wheels of wagons and hooves of horses carrying sturdy pioneers to the meeting place are overgrown with brush and tangled briars. No longer do the voices of children on their way to school or church in the house near the creek resound. The most accessible approach to the location is via the Union Star Road [Bethlehem Road], turning off at what old timers remember as the Garland Johnson place, following this road down the mountain past what was originally the Grab Spyres' place, later occupied by his son-in-law Guy Tanner. We strongly advise against any novice starting to drive down this road because before reaching the Spyres place a locked gate bars further travel and there is almost no room to turn a car around. Before reaching the bottom of the hollow even the trail vanishes and without the direction of an experienced guide the stranger would be completely lost; it is doubtful that the location of the old building and overgrown cemetery nearby would be found.
