Guy Tanner house
Guy Tanner house

Guy Tanner farm. House built in 1879 by Conan Doyle's grandfather, Malen Spyres, who was also pastor of Old Bethlehem.  Guy Tanner married Tennie Spyres, and eventually Malen turned the farm over to them.  The Tanners and the Fred and Mary Doyle family visited often.

From here, you may change maps and sojourn in the wilderness of Lee Creek with ticks and poison ivy.  Your destination will be the original site of Old Bethlehem.
