Fried Squash Blossoms


1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
additional oil for frying
12 large freshly picked squash blossoms

Mix first four ingredients in bowl, in another bowl mix egg, milk and oil. Add dry mixture to egg mixture. Stir until smooth. Heat oil to 375 degrees F. Dip blossom in batter and fry. Drain on paper towel.
