An impressive flowering of the Echinopsis (Trichocereus) x 'Cherry Red', hybridized by Dr. Mark Dimmitt of Tuscon,
Arizona.
This and other striking shades of red, we understand, are a specialty of Dr. Dimmitt. The flowers open nocturnally,
or in the
early morning, and persist for two days. In Las Cruces, New Mexico, our cactus flowered at intervals from June
to September.
