Twin Falls, in Yankee Boy Basin, out of Ouray, Colorado, is a favorite stop for four-wheel drive enthusiasts visiting Yankee Boy Basin, in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado. Jeeps may be rented in Ouray for the drive up to the Camp Bird Mine, then beyond to the ghost town of Sneffels, and finally to Yankee Boy Basin, a favorite for wildflower enthusiasts. In the late spring, when the flow of water is largest the falls are spectacular. The name 'Twin Falls' does not relate to the two separate flows pictured here, but rather to the fact that two separate waterfalls are linked together.
