Morning light touches the Church of the Intercession-on-the-Nerl. This structure was built in the latter part
of the twelfth century at fortified site of Bogoliubovo, by Prince Andrei, who was himself nicknamed Bogoliubski
(God-loving). It was built to commemorate the death of his oldest son, killed in a battle with the Volga Bulgars.
